Job Summary
We are looking for a driven and relationship-focused Sales Account Representative to grow and manage accounts throughout the NYC Metro area. This role combines field sales, account management, and new business development, giving you the opportunity to expand distribution, build strong retail partnerships, and drive revenue growth.
This is a full-time, dynamic position that includes travel within the territory, in-person store visits, and collaboration with internal sales and marketing teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about building lasting customer relationships while identifying new opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
Identify and secure new retail accounts across the territory.
Build relationships with key decision makers and introduce products through sampling and in-store demonstrations.
Convert non-buying accounts into active customers through consistent outreach and follow-up.
Account Management & Growth
Manage and grow relationships with existing accounts.
Identify sales opportunities including product expansions, new item introductions, and promotional programs.
Drive revenue growth through increased shelf presence and strategic partnerships.
Distribution & Sales Expansion
Identify product “voids” and expand SKU placement within current accounts.
Coordinate product samples, track sales performance, and support in-store activations.
Implement sales initiatives that increase sell-through and brand visibility.
VMI & Inventory Support
Support Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs with retail partners.
Work with customers to expand shelf space and product offerings based on performance.
Planning & Collaboration
Develop weekly sales plans and track progress toward territory goals.
Participate in weekly sales meetings to share market insights and opportunities.
Coordinate with brand ambassadors and event teams to execute vendor days, pop-ups, and promotional activations.
Qualifications
Required
Must be 21 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED
Strong communication, relationship-building, and sales skills
Ability to travel within the territory and attend vendor shows or events as needed
Highly organized with strong follow-up and time management skills
Preferred
Sales or account management experience in retail, distribution, or consumer packaged goods
Experience with CRM tools, spreadsheets, and sales tracking systems
Experience working with vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs
Work Environment
This role combines field sales, remote work, and occasional office collaboration. Expect frequent store visits, vendor events, and interaction with retail partners throughout the NYC Metro territory.
